AMAZONIAN INDIGENOUS TRIBES

There are around 400-500 indigenous tribes in the Rainforest today, and they are called Amerindians. They don’t have any contact with the rest of world, or better : they don’t want any, but  due to deseases, deforestation, drug trafficking and oil development, the Brazilian Government created a sort of reservation for them so they can be protected. Only a few tribes have contact with the outside world, and are the one who wear minimal clothing ( made out of natural materials found in the forest ) but usually the tribes are completely naked. There are quite a few differences between all of those tribes, with approximately 180 different languages and practices. What I found to be quite fascinating is their body decorations and tattoos.

Today there are not many tattooed tribes, they are actually less than 10. They use tattoos as a medical purpose, to protect theirself from evil spirits, to show their victories and to venerate their heroes. I took a bit of inspiration from them to improve my arms decoration design for my character.
